HOW TO BUY
- Register at the office
for a Buyers Bid Card. Proper identification is required.
- We accept cash, personal
check, credit card checks only, or money orders.
- You may inspect vehicles
on the outside lot on sale day before they are auctioned. Please base
your bid on your examination. NO TEST DRIVES ALLOWED ON SALES
LOT.
Mileage on the odometer may not be the actual
mileage. Listen closely to the auctioneer.
- Listen carefully to all
the announcements. The Auction lane is frequently crowded, make sure the
auctioneer sees your bid.
- Subject to sellers
approval, the last bidder is the absolute purchaser and is
obligated to pay for the vehicle.
- Make sure you know what
you are bidding on. Is it the right vehicle? Is the mileage 50,000 and not
150,000? If you are not sure, stop the auctioneer and ask, because once you
win the bid, it is your vehicle.
- After winning the bid,
proceed immediately to the clerk on the auction block to sign the agreement
and receive your copy. You must have a buyers number. Check the
accuracy of the agreement before you sign. If there is a dispute, what is
written on the agreement will control. In addition to your bid price, a Buyers
fee will be added to your vehicle cost (fees are posted in office.) Plus all
required tax fees. The purchase must be paid for in the office.
- Vehicles can not be taken
from the lot without the proper paperwork.
- All sales are final.
LaGrange Auto Auction is neither the buyer nor the seller in any transaction.
Our purpose is to act as an agent to complete the transaction between the two
parties. We do not assume responsibility for omissions or the failure to make
announcements on the block.
- It is illegal in the
state of Indiana to drive without a license plate. The auction does not supply
paper plates. If you intend to drive your vehicle home the day of the auction
you must bring with you a license plate you intend to transfer from another
vehicle along with its registration papers. Or you may leave the vehicle in
our after hours lot and pick it up after you have visited the Bureau of Motor
Vehicles and have a license plate to put on the vehicle.
